Hue & Tom — An Intimate Wedding at Melbourne Zoo
Hue and Tom’s story began during the COVID years, when they matched on Hinge. Once lockdowns eased, they finally met in person for their first date at Melbourne Zoo. Walking through the zoo, surrounded by animals and plenty of conversation, it was the perfect start for two people who share a love for nature and simple moments together.
A few years later, in February 2024, Tom proposed in the most “them” way possible, quietly and at home. He surprised Hue with a bouquet of roses with the ring hidden inside. After the big moment, the two celebrated with a cosy dinner together. No big crowd, no grand gestures, just the two of them, which perfectly reflects their relationship.
When they’re not planning their wedding, Hue and Tom love keeping things simple. You’ll often find them relaxing at home watching TV, heading out for dinner, or going on road trips together. Tom is a big fish enthusiast and keeps several aquariums, so visiting fish stores has become one of their regular little adventures.
Choosing their wedding venue was an easy decision. Returning to Melbourne Zoo felt meaningful, as it’s where their story first started. For them, the day isn’t about big traditions or grand surprises. Instead, they’re looking forward to one simple moment the most, walking back down the aisle together, officially married, surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Their wedding is designed to feel less like a formal event and more like an intimate dinner party with the people who matter most. Every guest invited has been part of their lives for at least a decade, with some friendships spanning over 25 years.
